Antique silver frames and layered matting introduce depth and subtle luminosity, lending the works a sculptural presence. Printed on Awagami handmade Japanese paper from the Fujimori family mill in Tokushima, the illustrations gain the softness and material depth of a centuries-old papermaking tradition, lending an archival luminosity to each marine study. Together, the series reimagines scholarly marine illustration as refined decorative art, bridging historic study with contemporary elegance.
